Oak Tantalus with three cut crystal decanters with opening cabinet in the front a lock, and a secret compartment in the base that will only open with the press of another part of the wooden case. The top compartment is divided into five sections, three of which are lined at the bottom with felt, while the other two compartments could be for cigars or tobacco. The secret drawer is divided into four compartments, each lined in felt. There are silver plate and enamel labels on each of the bottles, for Whiskey, Brandy, and Gin. THe flaps that cover the main compartments must be opened with the key in order to allow the bottles to be removed, otherwise they are securely locked in place with their stoppers sealed by the wooden case. The oak is handsomely mounted in German silver over brass. There is a working lock and key. Size: 13 7/8 inches tall, 13 1/4 inches wide, 11 1/4 inches deep. Excellent. There is a minor split in one of the pieces of wood trim on the right hand side. The Brandy label is missing part of its enamel.
