Unique and unusual Italian made knife, a cross between a hunting sword and a very large bowie knife, with an unusually shaped blade with a large etched scene of battling stags on the blade, a brass cross guard, pommel, and ferrule of ornate design, and a huge stag grip large enough for two hands. There is no sheath. The blade has a fairly conventional edge, but the point turns up like a Persian slipper, and the back has interesting and attractive cut-outs. The blade is stamped on the ricasso: C. JUL over HERBERTZ over ROSTFREI on one side and ITALY on the other.Size: 20 inches long with a 12 inch blade.
