A particularly massive J.P. Clabrough & Bros. London Laminated Steel 10 gauge shotgun, with external hammers and a side lever release for the barrels. The gun has a straight stock and no barrel rib extension, so was probably a mid-range gun. It is serial number 2085, and was manufactured in 1875. The gun has very fine checkering on the wrist and forend, a brass escutcheon plate on the butt, and a scene with a hunting dog and ducks on the lock plates. The forend is secured by a key. The butt plate is plain steel. The barrels have a particularly attractive Damascus pattern.
Size: 47 ¼ inches long overall, with 30 inch barrels.
Shipping: $70.00.
Condition
Condition: Very good overall. The stock has a few handling marks, and there is a deeper dent in the forend. The metal is all very good plus and better. The action is tight and crisp. The bores are excellent. The butt plate has minor rust and a few minor dents.
