Silvered and partially gilt pressed-tin badge with soldered horizontal pin. The obverse depicts a large eagle in flight above a scene of a biplane flying over fields, with radiant sunburst in the background. To the sides are crowned shields with oak and laurel sprays: left shield bearing the German imperial eagle, right shield with regional arms. The lower panel reads “GUT LAND 1914–15†picked out in gilt. Reverse is plain gilt with simple pin attachment. These commemorative badges were privately produced and distributed in support of the war effort and to honor service in particular campaigns or regions during the early years of the Great War.

Good. Silvering lightly worn with darkened toning; gilt highlights visible on crowns and legend; reverse shows oxidation and wear around solder points. Pin intact but set with aged solder.
