Oval badge with a laurel wreath enclosing a German M1916 steel helmet above two crossed swords. Blackened finish over stamped hollow steel construction. This was the lowest grade wound badge, awarded to soldiers of the Imperial German Army who were wounded once or twice by hostile action during the First World War. Vertical pin-back fitting to reverse.
