A darkened bronze badge in the form of a cross with laurel and oak branches, centered by a crowned Polish eagle with wings spread. The inscription reads “OBRONCOM†(To the Defenders), “RZESNY POLSKIEJ†(of the Polish Republic), with dates “XI.1918†and “28.VI.1919†marking the struggle for independence following World War I and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. Screwback construction with a circular brass disk retaining nut to reverse.
