a fine US Springfield Model 1884 saddle-ring carbine in .45-70 caliber, serial number 13836, manufactured in 1880, but modified with the 884 breech and improved sights. The carbine has had a hooded front sight and steel pistol grip attachment added for shooting by the owner. It is complete with cleaning rod in the butt trap.

Condition
The bore is dusty but very good. The finish on the metal is very good plus. The wood has minor marks, and the cartouche is barely visible. The action is tight and crisp.
