Three very nice bowie knives in 19th century style, but modern made, all with sheaths: A Carvel Hall "Jim Bowie" knife in the style of Bowie's original knife, with plain wooden grip, steel "S" shaped gyard with stars engraved on the quillons, a brass blade catcher on the back of the blade, and a long wickedly curbed Bowie style blade. There is a portrait of "Colonel" James Bowie ( 1799-1836) on one side of the blade. The ricasso is stamped Carvel Hall Stainless U.S.A. The knife is in a very nice plain brown leather sheath. Size: 14 1/2 inches long overall, with a 10 inch blade. Interesting "Mountian Man" bowie knife by Tramontina of Brazil, with gilt brass mounts similar to those on an 18th century huning sword, with a lion head pommel, and an ornate "S" shaped guard, and a brilliant Inox Stainless Steel blade in a cowhide with the hair on sheath. The grip may be rosewood. The blade has a Mountain Man on horseback etched on the blade, with the words "Mountain Man." Size: 15 1/2 inches overall, with a 10 1/4 inch blade. Large "Wild Boar" Brand bowie knife with brass guard and pommel, and stacked leather grip, in a plain brown leather sheath. The blade is wide and long, marked Pakistan, and Stainless Steel, but is in an old fashioned style. Size: 14 5/8 inches overall, with a 9 1/2 inch blade. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition

The first knife is about mint, the sheath having some minor stains. The second knife is about mint. The third knife is excellent, with a small area of edge roughness right at the point, and some verdigris at the guard.
