An "African Hunter" bowie knife by Voss, Linder, and Schlieper. The knife has an interesting and unusual blade with a strong, reinforced back, sloping down at the edge and towards the point. It has the Voss, Linder & Schlieper mark of a hand holding three arrows, is stamped Solingen, Germany and 18154, and is engraved African Hunter over Hand Made Hammer Forged. The knife has a brass guard and pommel, and a nicely shaped wooden grip, and is in a brown leather sheath. Size: 13 inches long with an 8 inch blade.
An "Original Bowie Knife," in classic form with stag grips, brass guard, and the words Original Bowie Knife etched along the back of the blade. The ricasso is stamped Solingen, Germany. The knife is in a rawhide sheath. Size: 15 inches long with a 9 5/8 inch blade.
Another slightly larger :Original Bowie Knife," this one by York Cutlery, Solingen, Germany, also with a stag grip and brass guard, i a brown leather sheath with the initials JMM at the throat. Size: 15 1/4 inches long, with a 10 inch blade.
A very large Giesen & Forsthoff Solingen, Germany bowie knife with a very long blade with a single fuller on each side, stag grips, brass guard, and bright polished aluminum pommel in a brown leather sheath with handsomely carved initials in te sheath, "EM."The maker's name is along the back of the blade, with a diamond shaped logo and the word "Timor." Size:17 5/8 inches long with a 12 3/8 inch blade.

Condition
All four knives are very good in sound leather sheaths. The first knife has sharpening marks on the blade, as does the third knife.
