The image depicts a broad, calm fjord enclosed by steep rocky peaks with two sailing vessels sitting on the water, rendered with a cool palette of blues, grays, and browns. It is signed by the artist in the bottom right corner. The painting is housed in an elaborate gilt frame with molded scrolling foliate decoration and inner borders.
