The Moro Barung / Barong is a large leaf shaped bolo sword. They were almost exclusively used by the Moros of the Sulu Sultanate, Sulu archipelago, Philippines. This one most likely dates to the 1930s-1950s. The grip ferrule on this piece is brass. The pommel Is decorated with an aluminum comb and studded with brass and aluminum tacks. Carved wood scabbard is also decorated with aluminum ornamentation.

Blade stained, has a chip on the blade edge. The scabbard has cracks and is missing some of the aluminum ornamentation. Please see photos.
