A very fine brass mounted percussion .54 caliber Mountain Rifle as issued by Browning in 1978 as a commemoration of Jonathan Browning, John Browning's father, also gunsmith, who first brought the family to Utah. Serial number The rifle is very well made, with a heavy octagonal barrel, single trigger, Lyman peep sight on the tang, wooden ramrod, and handsome walnut stock with a raised cheek rest. The barrel is browned, and the lock is blackened. The gun has brass mounts that are toned with ge.Only limited numbers of this model were produced, and production ceased by 1981.

Condition
Very good condition. The gun has seen use, and not been properly stored, so there is light rust on some parts, as well as dust and dirt. The rifling is very good, and the stock is excellent.
