An extremely fine and handsome medium grade hammerless Damascus double barreled shotgun in 10 gauge by J.P. Clabrough & Bros., London. It is serial numbered 377 and was manufactured in 1884. It is photographed and described in detail in Mr. Shelton’s book, J.P. Clabrough, Birmingham Gunmaker. The gun has very fine engraving, including a savanna scene with pheasants on the lock plates. The stock is very handsome, with fine checkering on the wrist and forend. The barrels have a particularly bold Damascus pattern. There is a tang safety and opening lever. The underside of the barrels has Birmingham proofs and “Not for Ball.”
