Excellent portrait of a young woman, probably in mourning, holding a mother-of-pear inlaid daguerreotype case in one hand. She is wearing a wedding ring and another ring, and has a jeweled necklace on as well as long earrings. Her dress is short-sleeved with white lace at collar and hems. The image is in a leatherette case. The matte is an early one, and the image probably dates around 1855. It measures 3 by 3 3/8 inches. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $30.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. All four cases are complete, although one has had the leather hinge replaced. The images are all at least very good, with the third and fourth images being excellent.
