The ikul or ikula is a traditional ceremonial knife or short sword featuring stout leaf shaped blades and proportionally small handles. Used by the Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Being that they are ceremonial knives, the blades are not sharpened. The blades can be found in different materials, this one is iron / steel. Likely dates to late 19th or early 20th century.

Dimensions: 14" long overall, 9.5" blade, a hair under 4" at widest point.
