This full-length oil on canvas portrait painting by A.D.M. Cooper depicts a serene classical maiden rendered in soft, controlled lighting against a dark background. The figure stands draped in a flowing cream-colored garment reminiscent of Greco-Roman attire. The maiden’s calm expression and outstretched hand suggest an allegorical or symbolic role, typical of Cooper’s turn-of-the-century classical works. This work represents Cooper’s academic style at its most refined, combining influences from European salon painting with his own dramatic California style. Large figure compositions of this type were frequently commissioned for private residences, fraternal orders, and public interiors.Signed lower left ‘AD Cooper’Dimensions: 58” x 38” framed. 49” x 29” canvasThis piece is too large for us to ship and can only be picked up at our warehouse in Sacramento, CA.
