19th century Filipino Moro panabas. This example has robust metal rings to hold the blade in place the spine is a quarter inch at its thickest. These are most closely associated with the Maranao and Maguindanao Moros of Mindanao Island, Philippines. The panabas was most infamously used for executions and as a formidable battlefield weapon, however, they started life as a foliage clearing tool that could serve the role of an axe or a sickle.

Condition
Metal parts have staining as well as some speckles of oxidation and pitting. Wood grip very fine. Please see photos.
