A Whitney Safety Firearms Company hammerless double barreled shotgun in 12 gauge, manufactured in Florence, South Carolina about 1890 with a unique lever safety behind the trigger guard. This is an example of the only firearms manufactured by this company, which was founded in 1887 and closed its doors in 1895. The shotgun has damascus barrels with a diamond patterned rib, hammerless action with very nice engraving, and a pistol grip stock into which the lever safety sinks. This example has several dents in the barrels and a large bulge in the right hand barrel.
Size: 47 inches long overall, with 30 inch barrels.

Condition
The gun is in good condition other than the dents and large bulge in the barrels. The action is a little sticky. The wood has a number of minor marks.
