A vintage Chinese hardwood compass commonly referred to as a Loupan, but it is also known as a Feng Shui or geomantic compass. It features a circular dial with intricate concentric rings filled with Chinese characters and symbols, as well as markings in 24 directions translating to 15 directions per direction. Each degree on a luopan approximates a terrestrial day. Also unlike a typical compass, a luopan does not point to the north magnetic pole, but the south one.

Overall good condition. There is a crack in the wood on the underside, but it does not affect the operating of the compass. Please see photos.
