Two very fine and similar CASE XX bowie knives in leather sheaths. One is the 1836 model, with the portrait of a frontiersman on the blade, with brass blade catcher on the back of the blade, and 2 narrow fullers in the blade and black grip, in a black leather sheath. The other has a plain blade with the letter X under CASE XX USA BOWIE. It has a white grip, and is in a brown leather sheath. Both knives have brass cross guards and brass rivets in their grips. Size: Each is 14 1/4 inches long with 9 1/4 inch blades.

Condition
The knife with the black grip is about excellent, with verdigris on the blade catcher and guard. The knife with the white grip is near mint, with a little verdigris on the guard.
