Two (2) Santa Clara Pueblo Blackware Pots

A lot made up of two Santa Clara Pueblo blackware pots: The largest has a round base and high shoulder tapering into the neck with a slight flare at the rim. It is polished all the way around and minimally decorated with two ridged lines going around the center. It is signed on the underside and dated '96, however the artist's name is difficult to make out. The smallest is a miniature pot with a round body and slightly flared rim. It is polished blackware all around and undecorated. It is signed on the underside by Anita Martinez (1927-1994), a respected potter from San Ildefonso Pueblo, daughter of Santana and Adam Martinez, and granddaughter of Maria and Julian Martinez, who were also among the most respected and influential Native American potters of 19th and 20th-century. Anita is known and has won numerous awards for her plainware and painted pottery. Dimensions: (largest) 5-inches tall with a 4.5-inch diameter at its widest point, (smallest) 2.75-inches tall with a 3.5-inch diameter at its widest point Processing and shipping within the Continental US $35.00.
