• Unframed Cargo Ship (1940) with full margins. Signed in pencil along the lower margin. Even toning across. 
  • Dimensions: 13.5h x 9.25w inches

Ellison Hoover was an American illustrator notable for his atmospheric prints of black & white rural & urban landscapes complimented by ghostly details that leave room for the viewer's imagination to wander. He studied at the Cleveland School of Art followed by the Art Students League of New York. Hoover then went on to work for many newspapers and magazines including The New Yorker, The New York Herald-Tribune, Life, and many more.

Overall good vintage condition. There is handling wear visible around the margins on both, however nothing that affects the integrity of the images. No further wear or restoration revealed under blacklight. Please see photos.
