Three Piece WWII Paper Archive of Lt Col Henry S. Mitchell. The group comprises his record of separation document, his Harry S. Truman letter of gratitude, and a 5th Army Advisory Committee appointment certificate from 1949. Mitchell joined the army in 1944 at age 53. He served stateside as a Neuropsychiatrist. He was separated from service on July 17th 1946. Just a few weeks before that on June 29th he was appointed to the 5th army advisory committee in Sheridan, Wyoming which is where he lived at the time. This group is an excellent representation of how patriotic people were at the time. Henry S. Mitchell was a 53 year old Neuropsychiatrist, he was under no obligation to join the army in fact he almost certainly took a significant pay cut to do so. But he did it anyway, he knew he was needed.Dimensions: Two of the documents are framed and one is not. the 2 frames are 11" x 8.5" each, the loose document is 10.5" x 8"Processing and shipping within the continental US $35 plus a 1.5% replacement cost insurance fee.
