A very fine folding bowie knife with fossilized wood grips by Parker & Son, Chattanooga, Tennessee, with a spread-winged American eagle etched on the blade with "Year of the Eagle1782-1982" below the eagle. The ricasso is stamped with the maker's name and on the other side, K41B. The knife has a folding guard and a folding blade guard, and is in a Buck rough leather belt sheath. A very handsome folding bowie knife with a double latch system: to open the blade you press and oval button on the grip, but to close the blade you press a raised button on the tang in the grips. The grips are polished wood. The blade is unmarked, but strongly resembles German made examples. The knife has a folding German silver guard, and the entire back of the blade and tang are sculpturally textured. The knife is in a mismatched black leather sheath. Condition
All three knives are excellent, with the first and third about mint. The sheaths on the first and third knives are mismatched, but fit well and protect the knives.
