Handsome traditional style bowie knife with coffin shaped wooden grip with brass rivets, brass guard, and a heavy and long bowie blade with no markings whatsoever. It is in a black leather sheath. Very handsome and interesting bowie knife with partial "D-guard" in brass on a brass mounted wooden grip of substantial construction and handsome design. The guard has an extension from the pommel that descends over the hand grip. The blade is long and heavy, representative of the Civil War era D-guard bowie knife. Both hilt and blade appear to be hand made. The sheath is black leather with a saltire resembling a Confederate flag at the throat. Exceptional craftsmanship in a period style.
