Three large modern Bowie knives & sheaths, including:
A fine, possibly hand made large bowie knife with a granite looking grip, possibly micarta, and fine leather sheath. The bowie itself is of standard shape, with a brass guard. The grips is textured and finished to look just like a piece of polished granite. The sheath is heavy brown leather (15.625-inches long overall, with a 9.75-inch blade).
A large bowie knife in a traditional-style sheath. The knife has stag grips with a bear’s head carved into them, and brass pommel and guard. The blade has a diamond brushed finish along the back. The sheath is very handsome with a stag toggle for the knife keeper, and is tooled. There are no markings (17-inches long overall, with an 11-inch blade).
A Western Cutlery large bowie knife in a hand-made leather sheath, with brown wood grip and short brass cross guard. This was possibly made from one of their more usual large fighting bowies. The blade is stamped “Western U.S.A. W49,” with the letter “J.” The blade has been blued, and sharpened. The sheath is well made of heavy brown leather with a belt loop (15.25-inches long overall, with a 9.5-inch blade).
