An exceptionally nice Model 1889 Schmidt-Rubin Infantry with detachable 12 round magazine. This is the highly advanced for its time used by the Swiss from 1889 to 1955 in various forms. The gun has matching serial numbers on the barrel, bolt, magazine and action: 80572.
The rifle has its original brass muzzle cover, and appears to have been made in the 1889/96 configuration with the modifications of 1911.

Condition
Very good to excellent condition overall, with the metl retaining almost all of its original blue, and the stock showing virtually no signs of use. There is some rust on the box magazine. The bore has grease in it, but shows sharp rifling.
