Large cleaver, marked L & I.J. White Buffalo N.Y. 1837, with a large "10" below that. The cleaver has a nicely turned wooden handle with the tang of the cleaver running most of the way down it. Leonard and Ichabod White started their foundry in 1837 and ceased operations in that name in 1928, making highly regarded edged tools for working men.
