All six bowls signed 'Prieto' underside. Two bowls have an MCM fish pattern, one with a cross-hatch pattern, two with a plain avocado green aesthetic, and one with an emanating eye pattern.
Antonio Prieto was an American ceramic artist at Mills College in Oakland California, born in Spain and living his adult life in Oakland. He is a well known mid-century bay area artist and was most famous for curating the ceramics collection at Mills College Art Museum. He initially collected ceramic art by local artists such as Robert Arneson, Viola Frey, and Peter Voulkos. Upon his passing the Prieto family donated these works to Mills College.
