A framed oil on board seascape painting signed by, what appears to be, an R.P.T. Moore. The first few initials are difficult to make out, but the last name is strong. It depicts a sailing vessel on moderately rough sea near a coastal harbor. The signature is in the bottom left corner. The painting is housed in a molded gilt frame with a beaded inner border.

Although there is a famous artist known as John Moore of Ipswich, who is well known for seascapes in this style, further examination of the signature on this piece does not match. It could possibly be a direct copy of his work and the artist was making note of that, but that is purely assumption. There are no affixed labels or included provenance providing background.

Overall good second-hand condition. Minimal scattered surface wear visible on the painting, including abrasions around the edges where it meets the frame. No further damage or restoration revealed under blacklight. Handling wear visible around the frame. Please see photos.
