Seventeen German M.I. Hummel Porcelain Figures. According to the Donald E. Stephens museum of Hummels, these figurines became popular in the United States during WWII when soldiers stationed in Germany sent them home as gifts for family (https://web.archive.org/web/20110728150240/http://www.stephenshummelmuseum.com/history2.html). This set includes a Trumpet Boy, a Little Goat Herder, Playmates (little boy with rabbits), Close Harmony (singing children), and more, as well as a trinket box with a figurine on the lid. It also includes a Hummel Completed Collector's Guide and Illustrated Reference book.
