Good luck flags were very popular souvenirs among US servicemen to the point that they were actually worth money. "Fake" Goodluck flags made during the war to sell to rear echelon guys by enterprising Sailors and Marines were a well known phenomenon. The navy Seabees were most notorious for doing this thus the name collectors know them as now. This fun history has made these interesting military collectibles in their own right.
