An original framed silver gelatin capturing Harry Greb and Al McCoy in the ring at Exposition Hall, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 30th, 1917. The boxers are posed in action before a densely packed ringside audience during their schedule ten-round bout, which Greb won by newspaper decision. This photo is particularly interesting as it documents Greb, years before he became the World Middleweight Champion competing against McCoy, the man recognized as Champion at that time. The gelatin bears extensive handwritten identification, including the event, location, and date written along the top margin with the fighters' names and national titles (at that time) written along the bottom margin. It it housed in a simple black wood frame under a tan, subtly textured mat.
Dimensions: (silver gelatin, sight) 11h x 13.5w inches, (frame) 13h x 17w inches
