A well executed portrait of a young Edith Knowlton (1874-1931) with a very long braid of hair and huge brown eyes. Edith Knowlton Robbins was a New York socialite of the "Gilded Age," who was the daughter of Danford Henry Knowlton and Mary B. Jones.Edith was considered a great beauty of her day, and was painted a number of times. She married Allan Appleton Robbins in 1901. He was the supervising engineer of the New York Subway System during one of its most significant periods of growth. Dimensions: canvas: 10"w x 12"h full: 13" x 15" Processing and shipping in the United States $45 plus a 1.5% insurance fee.
