A framed oil on canvas impressionist style painting titled "Beaching Water" by Pieter van der Hulst. It is signed "P Van Hulst" in the lower left corner.

Hulst was born 1651 in Dordrecht, South Holland, the Netherlands. As he grew, he became an accomplished painter and etcher known for detailed landscapes, seascapes, portraits, and more. In 1674, he traveled to Italy and joined a group of Dutch painters living in Rome calling themselves Bentvueghels, meaning birds of a feather. His fellow artists nicknamed him Zonnebloem, meaning sunflower, due to his preference to paint natural flora rather than a formal bouquet. He returned to the Netherlands in 1681 and remained in his hometown until 1691, in which King Christian V received Hulst as an artist of the court of Denmark. Hulst lived at court until the Kings death, then returning and permanently settling in Dordrecht until his death in 1727. His work is held in the permanent collection of the British Museum in London, England.

Fair-Good. Condition corresponds with age. The color is vivid and image legible with minimal soiling. There is also age-related craquelure across. The frame shows normal signs of age and wear. Painting not examined out of frame. Please see photos.
