A framed oil on canvas painting of three horse racers in motion by English artist Peter Howell (1932-2024). The horses are depicted with loose, energetic brushwork subdued in warm gray, beige, ochre, and cream colors creating a hazy atmosphere. It is signed and dated in the bottom left corner. The frame is wood toned with narrow gilt and pale inner moldings.

Fair condition. There is localized damage in the upper-left portion of the canvas where an object was resting against it for a prolonged period of time. This created permanent pressure deformation in the canvas with associated paint loss to the layer within that area. Additional minor surface wear and soling consistent with age. Frame has scattered handling wear. No further damage or restoration revealed under blacklight. Please see photos.
