Los Angeles’‘USPRR,’ an acronym for the United States Pacific Railroad Expedition, and Survey, were a series of explorations conducted by the United States reaching out west in the 1850s. Their goal was to establish a practical and economical route for a transcontinental railroad from the Mississippi to the Pacific. The results of these surveys led to incredible art, which included many lithographs of native inhabitants, terrain, flora, fauna, wildlife, and city views.
