Very handsome pair of older German steins, circa 1900, with portraits of a couple, the husband on one, the wife on the other. Both are dressed as upper-middle class, the man in a suit and pince-nez glasses, the wife in a fancy dress with a brooch at her throat. The steins have three gold rings around them, and the portraits are framed in gold. The lids are pewter with ceramic insets with ornate initials in gold on them, both featuring large letters "B". The handles have square angles at the bottom, and pewter hinges with ornate pewter finials. There are no marks on the bottoms. Size: Each stein is 7 inches tall at the finial, with the bodies of the steins being 5 1/2 inches in height.
