Dr. Miller was an early settler / physician in the Plattsburgh, NY area after the Revolutionary War as well as a prominent farmer there. In the portrait Dr. Miller is dressed in a period suit and is holding a book labeled "Dr. J Miller, Plattsburgh", in her portrait, Elizabeth Miller wears a black dress and white lace bonnet. Oil on canvas.
