A jambiya of the form generally seen either in North Africa, or occasionally in Yemen. The blade is plain, curved, of flattened diamond cross-section. The hilt is essentially cylindrical, of brass, with fluted areas both at the pommel and cross guard. There are finely engraved designs on both sides of the grip, likely representing the Tree of Life. The sheath is wood covered with brass, of complementary designs to the hilt. There are two crude hanging rings made of brass wire. The dagger probably dates from the early 1800s. Dimensions: 12.5-inches long overall, with a 6.375-inch blade. Weight: 9.70 ounces Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $35.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.

Condition

Good. The blade has been crudely ground, and the point has been rounded. The hilt and scabbard are very good. Please see photos.
