Of low, wide form with a central opening and gently rounded sides, the basket is finely constructed in tightly woven natural fibers. The surface displays a repeating geometric motif in dark brown against a tan ground, executed with consistent, even stitching. The form and weave are characteristic of California basketry traditions, with careful attention to symmetry and finish.
