The Moro Barung / Barong is a large leaf shaped bolo sword. They were almost exclusively used by the Moros of the Sulu Sultanate, Sulu archipelago, Philippines. The long grip ferrule On this piece appears to be silver. The banati wood "kakatua" cockatoo motif pommel Is the standard for these weapons. The more ornamented, the higher the status of the owner.
Dimensions: 25" long overall, 17" blade.

Condition
Blade stained, has two sizable chips on the blade edge. The silver ferrule Has a crack and several horizontal dents. Pommel is chipped. Please see photos.
