Antique throwing knife from the Matakam, a Kirdi people of Northern Nigeria and Cameroon. Not actually thrown (due to its large size), but used as a hand weapon and a prestige item, and also as currency. The handle would have been wrapped with leather, raffia, or cloth.
Dimensions: 25.5" long, 9.5" wide.
This lot may be picked up free of charge from our facilities in Sacramento, CA. Processing and shipping within the Continental US $60.00.
