A detailed bronze ewer featuring a handcuffed nymph being approached by a dragon emerging from the opposite side. The dragon's body and tail make up the handle. The body of the ewer is decorated to look like rough ocean waves with thrashing fish amid it, mounted on a granite base. It is signed "Marcel Debut" on the lower right side of the ewer body, next to the end of the dragon's tail.Marcel Debut was a French sculptor best known for his bronze work that often depicted historical figures and mythology. As a child he trained under his father, Didier Debut, who was also a famous sculptor in his time.
