Wooden war shield carried by tribes of the Cordillera Region of Northern Philippines. Among the headhunter tribes are the Ifugao, Bontoc, Ilongot, Sagada Igorot, Kalingas, and Apayaos. This shield has a hole in the front that goes into where the hand guard is on the other side, this appears to be period damage as it has the remnants of a very old repair using cane and some sort of tar.
Dimensions: 32.75" tall x 10.5" wide.
