Louis Benett Chevalier (1823-1889) Painting, Walnut Creek Bride Lake Shore Railroad. Chevalier, born in 1823 in Erie, Pennsylvania- considered during his time as the leading American general utility artist. In 1875 he moved to Detroit where he worked for the Pullman Car Works, a manufacturer of Railroad cars.
