A Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico blackware pot by Linda "Jo'Povi" Askan. The pot features a flaring rim and wide shoulder transitioning into a rounded base, as well as stylized geometric motifs, possibly representing feather, kiva-step, or other motion patterns. Signed on the underside.
Linda Askan (b. 1954) began producing in the later century and has gained recognition for pieces that reflect traditional methods and her own refined style. Her signature often appears as "Jo'Povi," meaning Young Deer in Tewa, accompanied by her full name and other relevant information.
