Very handsome pastel painting of a young woman goatherd seated on a rock with a goat at her right hand. A walled city rises behind her. She is wearing a pink dress, with flowers in her hair. The painting is signed in the lower right hand corner, "Thornburg 1908." It may be one of a group of saloon style paintings purchased in a grouping from Old Sacramento, as it has the same artist as a previous painting. The painting is in a substantial and ornate gilt frame. Size: 65 inches tall and 51 inches wide. Excellent condition.
