Large and extremely ornate and handsome bronze lantern, probably meant for a garden. It is of very high quality and outstanding workmanship, with a three-dimensional dragon winding around the center, and pierced panels with dragons in them to let the light out. The upper part of the shade has up-turned ends like a pagoda, the ends being in the shape of dolphins with their tails raised, with bells dangling below them. The very top of the lantern is a bronze finial in the form of flames rising up. The entire piece has a dark patina, with the exception of bright brass bells dangling below the dolphin ends to the upper shade. There is a hinged door on one side, and the lantern has been electrified. Size: 67 inches tall, and 24 inches across. Excellent, with beautiful patina.
