A large and massive antique oak filing cabinet with 45 drawers, probably dating from about 1880. Each drawer has a small metal frame for a label and a brass drawer pull. The drawer interiors are of ash. The interior sides of the drawers are slanted for easier access to the files within. The front of the cabinet has tongue & groove fastening to the wood, while the back has rabbet joints. The consignor added plastic liners at some time in the past. The top of the cabinet has old painted words on it suggesting an origin in the shipping industry.
Size: 60 inches tall by 50 1/2 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches deep.
Condition
Very good plus, and although it is most likely 150 years old, it is entirely usable.
